First seen Dec 16, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding a combined EEG-fMRI scan to standard tests helps doctors find the exact brain area causing seizures in people with hard-to-treat focal epilepsy. About 102 patients aged 8 and older who were being considered for surgery took part. The goal was to see if this extra scan improves surgery success and helps more people become eligible for surgery.
