Brain wave test may predict depression treatment success in veterans

NCT ID NCT05008198

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple brain wave test (EEG) can tell doctors which veterans with hard-to-treat depression will improve with a treatment called TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation). About 266 veterans will get EEG scans before, during, and after TMS sessions. The goal is to find a pattern in brain activity that predicts who responds well, so treatment can be personalized.
