NCT ID NCT06320015

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether a program that pairs people in the ER with a trained peer recovery specialist helps them connect to addiction treatment and support services. Researchers will follow 400 adults who came to the ER for a substance use-related issue, comparing those who get the peer specialist to those who don't. The goal is to see if this approach improves treatment engagement, recovery capital, and reduces ER visits and deaths.
