Simple exercises might soothe sore shoulders
NCT ID NCT07602478
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a specific type of exercise called eccentric contraction (lengthening muscles under tension) can help people with shoulder pain syndrome. Sixty adults aged 18-70 with rotator cuff tendinitis will do either eccentric exercises plus standard therapy or standard therapy alone for 6 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in pain and shoulder function to see if the eccentric approach offers extra benefit.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Eccentric contraction exercises
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a simple, drug-free exercise approach to reduce shoulder pain and improve daily function.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 participants. The exercises may not outperform standard physical therapy, and results may not apply to all shoulder conditions.
