NCT ID NCT03631849
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study aimed to see if the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is linked to peri-implantitis, a condition that causes inflammation and loss of dental implants. Researchers measured virus levels in gum samples from 30 adults with and without the condition. The goal was to better understand what causes peri-implantitis, not to test a new treatment.
