Smart sensors and AI aim to spot pregnancy diabetes sooner
NCT ID NCT07276945
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will enroll 300 pregnant women to see if continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and AI tools can diagnose gestational diabetes earlier and more accurately than current methods. Researchers will also look at how CGM data relates to health outcomes for mothers and babies. The goal is to create a smarter, personalized system for managing this common pregnancy complication.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to earlier and easier diagnosis of gestational diabetes, potentially improving health outcomes for mothers and babies.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study without a treatment, so it won't directly cure or control the condition. The AI tools and new criteria need validation and may not work for everyone.
