Ear acupuncture may help TB patients beat drug side effects

NCT ID NCT07271225

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests if press-needle ear acupuncture can reduce nausea and vomiting caused by tuberculosis (TB) medicines. About 58 people with TB who experience these side effects will be randomly assigned to receive real ear acupuncture or a placebo. Researchers will compare symptom scores to see if the acupuncture helps and is safe. If effective, it could offer a simple, low-risk way to help patients stick with their TB treatment.
