Can AI avatars teach cancer pain care better than a classroom?
NCT ID NCT07461974
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study will compare two ways of teaching nursing students about cancer pain management: traditional classroom lectures and an e-learning course with AI-powered avatar lectures and gamified scenarios. About 100 nursing students will take part, and researchers will measure their knowledge, practical skills, motivation, and the cost of each teaching method. The goal is to find out which approach works better and is more cost-effective for schools.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could show that e-learning is as effective as or better than traditional teaching for cancer pain care, potentially saving schools money while improving student learning.
What could go wrong
This is an educational study, not a treatment trial. Results may not apply to other subjects or settings, and the e-learning method may not suit all students.
