New MRI technique aims to spot hidden knee ligament tears
NCT ID NCT02787096
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to diagnose partial tears of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the knee. Standard MRI scans often miss these tears, so researchers measured how much the knee shifted during a stress MRI. 151 people with knee injuries took part, and their results were checked again after one year. The goal was to see if this dynamic measurement improves diagnosis.
