New 5-Minute MRI scan could spot hidden breast cancers without dye

NCT ID NCT03607552

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests a short, non-contrast MRI technique called DWI to see if it can find breast cancers that mammograms miss in women with dense breasts. About 269 women will participate to find the best settings for the scan and how accurately it tells cancer from non-cancer. If successful, it could offer a faster, safer, and cheaper way to screen dense breasts than current methods.
