Scientists probe why asthma drugs work differently in obese patients
NCT ID NCT05478824
Summary
This study aimed to understand how the asthma medication dupilumab works at a cellular level in adults who have both asthma and obesity. Researchers collected nasal cell samples from 28 participants to analyze how the drug changes gene and protein activity. The goal was to learn if the drug's effects differ between people with allergic asthma and non-allergic asthma when obesity is also present.
