Double-Sided toothbrush could cut brushing time in half
NCT ID NCT07030088
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new toothbrush with two heads that cleans the front and back of teeth at the same time. Forty dentists will use the new brush on one side of their mouth and a regular brush on the other side for two weeks. Researchers will measure plaque removal, gum health, brushing time, and comfort to see if the dual-headed design works better.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Dual-headed manual toothbrush
What this could lead to
If it works, this toothbrush could make brushing quicker and more effective, helping people maintain better oral hygiene with less effort.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 dental professionals, so results may not apply to the general public. The new brush may not clean better or could feel uncomfortable.
