Doctors test Patient's own cells to fight debilitating dry mouth

NCT ID NCT06392711

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing whether injecting a patient's own bone marrow cells into their salivary glands is safe and might help improve severe dry mouth. The study focuses on people whose dry mouth is caused by autoimmune conditions like Sjogren's disease or as a side effect of transplant (GVHD). Researchers will collect cells from participants' bone marrow, grow them in a lab, and then inject them into the glands under the jaw to see if saliva production improves.
