NCT ID NCT03414645

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether CAM-101 eye drops are safe and can help relieve dry eye in people who developed the condition after a bone marrow transplant (graft-versus-host disease). 64 adults received either a low or high dose of CAM-101 or a placebo drop four times a day for six weeks. The main focus was on safety, but researchers also looked for signs of symptom improvement.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

CAM-101 (fibrinogen-depleted human platelet lysate) eye drops

What this could lead to

If successful, this could lead to a new treatment option for dry eye in people with graft-versus-host disease, easing discomfort and improving eye health.

What could go wrong

This is an early-phase trial with only 64 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The main goal is safety, not proof of effectiveness.
