NCT ID NCT07488949
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing whether adding medroxyprogesterone acetate to standard doxycycline treatment can better cure chronic endometritis and improve pregnancy outcomes in women with recurrent reproductive failure. One thousand women aged 20-45 will be randomly assigned to receive either the combination or doxycycline alone for 14 days. The researchers will track cure rates, pregnancy rates, and live birth rates to see which approach works best.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- doxycycline and medroxyprogesterone acetate
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide a more effective treatment for chronic endometritis, potentially improving pregnancy and live birth rates in women with recurrent reproductive failure.
- What could go wrong
- This is a single-center trial with no phase designation, and the addition of medroxyprogesterone may not significantly improve outcomes over doxycycline alone. Side effects from the medications are possible.
