Old antibiotic, new hope: doxycycline may shield TB Patients' lungs and hearts

Summary
This study tests whether adding the antibiotic doxycycline to standard tuberculosis (TB) treatment can reduce lung damage and improve heart health. About 150 adults with active TB and lung cavities will receive either doxycycline or a placebo for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure lung function, heart events, and safety over two years.
