Ultrasound-Guided needle therapy may ease menstrual cramps
NCT ID NCT07176910
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a technique called Doppler-guided angiopuncture can safely reduce pain in women with primary dysmenorrhea (period pain). Researchers will perform the needle procedure on 30 participants and measure pain changes using a standard pain scale. The goal is to see if this approach offers a new way to manage menstrual cramps without medication.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
angiopuncture (a needle procedure guided by Doppler ultrasound)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new, non-drug option for managing period pain.
What could go wrong
This is a very small early trial with only 30 people, so results may not apply widely. The procedure involves needles and carries minor risks like bruising or infection.
