Alzheimer's drug tested for ringing ears relief

NCT ID NCT07153991

Summary

This study tested whether donepezil, a medication typically used for Alzheimer's disease, could help reduce the symptoms of chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Seventy patients with long-term tinnitus were randomly assigned to receive either donepezil or a placebo pill for three months. Researchers measured changes in how much the tinnitus bothered participants using standard questionnaires.
