Heart drug tested as lifeline for sepsis patients

NCT ID NCT04166331

Summary

This study tested whether adding the heart medication dobutamine helps control organ damage in sepsis patients who develop weakened heart function. Researchers enrolled 136 intensive care patients with septic shock and heart weakness to receive either dobutamine or placebo alongside standard care. The goal was to see if dobutamine improves blood flow to organs and reduces complications during critical illness.
