Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a single dose of the psychedelic substance DMT, combined with psychotherapy, can help people with alcohol use disorder reduce their drinking. Researchers will give 63 participants either DMT or a placebo, along with therapy, to check safety and see if it affects alcohol cravings and consumption over 8 weeks. The main goal is to see if this approach is safe and tolerable while measuring its potential effects on alcohol use.
