Healing at a distance: reiki tested for myeloma patients
NCT ID NCT04783038
First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This pilot study looked at whether distance Reiki—a hands-off energy therapy—could improve quality of life and immune function in 30 adults with multiple myeloma who had a stem cell transplant. Participants were randomly assigned to receive real Reiki, fake (sham) Reiki, or no extra treatment. The study measured changes in well-being, fatigue, and immune cell diversity, but it was small and exploratory, so results are not conclusive.
