Digital stories could ease tough transplant decisions for blood cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07263074

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 07, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests a new approach called CHORDS, which uses short digital stories from past patients and simple values exercises to help people with myeloid cancers think through their decision about a stem cell transplant. About 120 patients will be randomly assigned to receive CHORDS or usual care. The main goal is to see if the program is practical and whether it helps patients feel more involved in their own care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
digital story intervention (CHORDS)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could give doctors and patients a new tool to make better, more personal decisions about whether to proceed with a stem cell transplant.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study, not a large trial. It may not show clear benefits, and the digital stories may not help everyone equally.
