Your smartwatch could warn you before an IBD flare

NCT ID NCT07159776

Summary

This study aims to see if data from wearable devices, grocery shopping habits, and patient surveys can be used to predict flare-ups in people with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Researchers will enroll 80 adults with IBD who are willing to use a smartphone, activity tracker, and shop at specific stores. The goal is to build a model that detects early signs of worsening disease activity without requiring constant doctor visits.
