Can an app and online coaching beat heart disease? major 7-Year study launches

NCT ID NCT06919302

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a digital heart health program—including an app and online coaching sessions—to a person's usual medical care is better at controlling cholesterol and preventing heart attacks and strokes than usual care alone. It will involve about 1,100 adults in Ontario who are already on cholesterol medication and are at high risk for heart problems. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the digital program plus their standard care or just their standard care, and researchers will track their health for seven years.
