First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Aug 06, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether playing digital brain games on the MentalUP app can improve visual memory and cognitive skills in young adults (18-35) with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. Sixty participants will be split into two groups: one plays the games, the other continues usual care. Their memory and thinking are tested at 3, 6, and 12 months. The goal is to see if fun, game-based training can offer lasting benefits.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a low-cost, engaging way to help people with intellectual disabilities sharpen their memory and thinking skills.
