First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a mobile app designed to help people with chronic pain better manage their symptoms and reduce how much pain interferes with daily life. The app uses proven therapy techniques like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, plus tools to track activities and mood. 108 adults with chronic pain used the app or received usual care, and researchers measured changes in pain interference and mental health.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
2Morrow Chronic Pain Self-Management Program (mobile app)
What this could lead to
If successful, this app could offer a convenient, non-drug way to help people with chronic pain feel better day-to-day and reduce pain's impact on their lives.
What could go wrong
This was a small feasibility study (108 people) to test if the app works and is usable. Larger trials are needed to know if it truly helps, and results may not apply to everyone with chronic pain.
