Heart patients to test app-based care for better blood pressure and cholesterol control
NCT ID NCT07332494
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a smartphone app can help people with coronary heart disease better manage their blood pressure and cholesterol after having a stent placed. About 792 participants will either use the app for one year or receive usual care. The app reminds patients to check their blood pressure, tracks lab results, and suggests medication changes with doctor approval, aiming to improve heart health outcomes.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
smartphone-based digital remote management platform
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide an effective way for heart patients to manage their blood pressure and cholesterol at home, reducing the risk of future heart problems.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage trial testing a new approach, so it may not prove better than standard care. Patients need to be comfortable using a smartphone app, which may not suit everyone.
