First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether a diet rich in special olive oil and prebiotic supplements could improve muscle mass and strength in older adults (ages 60-80) with sarcopenia, a condition of age-related muscle loss. 39 participants followed the diet for 12 weeks and were monitored for changes in muscle, heart health, and gut bacteria. The goal was to see if these foods could help manage sarcopenia and reduce heart disease risk.
