First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether a whole-food plant-based diet, compared to a standard North American diet, can lower LDL cholesterol in 50 adults with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH). Participants followed each diet for 28 days in a crossover design. Researchers also looked for metabolic markers of healthy eating.
