Psoriasis relief on a plate? diet trial tests wheat and dairy elimination
NCT ID NCT05644782
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study explores whether removing wheat and cow's milk from the diet can reduce inflammation and improve skin symptoms in people with mild-to-moderate psoriasis. 82 participants will follow either a wheat- and dairy-free diet or a control diet for 2 months, then some will be re-exposed to wheat to see if symptoms return. The goal is to understand the link between diet, gut health, and psoriasis.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
wheat- and dairy-free diet
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple dietary change to help manage psoriasis symptoms.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with no blinding, so results may be influenced by placebo effects. The diet is restrictive and may be hard to follow long-term.
