Summary

This study looks at whether an ultrasound measurement of the diaphragm can help predict which patients hospitalized with a COPD flare-up will get worse and need breathing support or die. Researchers will measure diaphragm motion during normal and deep breathing in 186 participants. The goal is to find a simple, non-invasive way to identify high-risk patients early.
