Summary
This study tested a new communication program designed to help older adults with advanced kidney disease make better decisions about starting dialysis. Doctors received special training, and patients got coaching to help them talk about their values and preferences. The goal was to see if this approach was practical and acceptable for improving how these difficult treatment decisions are made.
