Pedaling through dialysis: can exercise protect the heart?
NCT ID NCT04877041
Summary
This study is testing if a 12-week program of gentle cycling during dialysis treatments can help protect the heart from strain caused by the dialysis process itself. It involves 160 adults with kidney failure who are on regular hemodialysis. Researchers will use heart ultrasounds and symptom surveys to see if the exercise reduces heart stress and improves recovery time and fatigue after treatment.
