Simple breath test could revolutionize asthma diagnosis in kids

NCT ID NCT07011394

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether two easy, non-invasive tests—a breath test (FeNO) and a blood test (eosinophils)—can accurately diagnose asthma in children aged 6 to 17. Currently, diagnosing asthma often requires complex hospital-based tests. The goal is to see if these simpler tests work well in primary care settings, helping doctors diagnose asthma faster and more accurately. About 123 children with asthma-like symptoms will participate.
