Smart scanner keeps tabs on healed foot ulcers
NCT ID NCT07360418
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study follows 50 people whose diabetic foot ulcers healed in a previous trial. They will use a BlueDrop foot scanner at home each morning to take photos and thermal images, which are sent to a nurse. The goal is to see how often the ulcers come back and whether remote monitoring works well for long-term follow-up.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
BlueDrop OneStep Foot Scanner (a device that takes photos and thermal images of the foot)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that remote monitoring with a smart scanner is a reliable way to track ulcer healing over time.
What could go wrong
This is a small, observational follow-up study with only 50 participants. It does not test a new treatment, so it cannot prove any cure or therapy works.
