First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study compares two diabetes medications, semaglutide and dapagliflozin, against standard treatment (metformin) to see if they can slow or reverse the buildup of plaque in the heart arteries. The trial involves 300 adults with pre-diabetes and confirmed coronary artery disease, and will track changes over 24 months using CT scans. The goal is to find a better way to manage heart disease risk in this high-risk group.
