Doctors test simple drug pause to make common scope safer
NCT ID NCT06533527
Summary
This study looked at whether people should temporarily stop taking certain diabetes and weight loss medications before an upper endoscopy. Researchers wanted to see if pausing these drugs reduces leftover food and liquid in the stomach, which can increase the risk of breathing problems during the procedure. They compared two groups: one that stopped their medication and one that continued it as usual.
