Massive study of 450,000 patients tests which diabetes drug combo saves more lives
NCT ID NCT07465926
Summary
This large study looked back at health records of over 450,000 adults with type 2 diabetes and obesity to see if starting two newer types of diabetes drugs (GLP-1s and SGLT2is) close together is better than other strategies. It aimed to find out which early drug combination leads to fewer deaths, heart attacks, strokes, and serious kidney problems over three years. The study did not assign treatments; it compared what doctors and patients already chose in real-world care.
