NCT ID NCT03648385
First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether a natural hormone called DHEA can improve heart function in people with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a condition where high blood pressure strains the heart. 26 adults took DHEA or a placebo in a crossover design, and researchers measured heart changes using MRI. The goal was to see if DHEA could help control the disease, not cure it.
