First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study compares two medications, dexmedetomidine and magnesium sulfate, to see which better controls pressure inside the skull during brain surgery. Sixty adults having elective craniotomy will receive one of the drugs, and their brain pressure will be continuously measured using a thin tube placed in the lower back. The goal is to find which drug keeps the brain safer during the operation.
