First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests two medicines, dexmedetomidine and lidocaine, to see which one helps place a breathing mask (laryngeal mask) more easily in children aged 2-12 having elective surgery. The goal is to improve first-attempt success and reduce coughing or other breathing problems. Sixty children will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two drugs before the mask is inserted.
