First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether a long-acting steroid called dexamethasone palmitate can prevent nausea and vomiting after open surgery better than the standard drug. About 500 adults having elective open surgery (spine, chest, or abdomen) will receive the drug before surgery and be monitored for 24 hours. The goal is to see if this longer-lasting version reduces side effects and improves comfort after surgery.
