Steroid shot before shoulder replacement may cut pain and hospital time

Summary

This study tests whether giving a steroid (dexamethasone) during shoulder replacement surgery can improve recovery. Researchers will measure pain, nausea, shoulder movement, and how long patients stay in the hospital. The study involves 74 adults with shoulder arthritis who are having their first shoulder replacement.
