Summary

This study tests a 12-week online program for mothers of infants (12-36 months old) with SMA Type 1. Thirteen mothers will take part, with 10 receiving the program and 3 receiving standard care. Researchers will measure the babies' developmental progress and the mothers' understanding of child development.

Active substance

Online Early Intervention Program for Infants with SMA Type 1

What this could lead to

If it works, this could provide a practical way for mothers to help their infants with SMA reach developmental milestones and improve their own understanding of child development.

What could go wrong

This is a very small pilot study with only 13 participants, so results may not apply to others. The program is behavioral support, not a medical treatment, and may not change the underlying disease course.
