Could bleaching before mousse fix Kids' chalky teeth?
NCT ID NCT07653373
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 09, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether cleaning the tooth surface with a bleach-like solution (sodium hypochlorite) before applying a special milk-protein mousse (CPP-ACPF) helps remineralize white or yellow spots on children's permanent molars caused by Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH). Fifty-four children will receive the mousse on both treated and untreated spots, and tooth brightness will be measured to see if the pre-treatment makes a difference.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- sodium hypochlorite and CPP-ACPF (casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium fluoride) dental mousse
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a more effective way to treat white or yellow spots on children's permanent molars caused by MIH, potentially reducing sensitivity and improving tooth strength.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 54 children, and it measures tooth brightness rather than long-term dental health. The treatment may not work for everyone or may not last.
