Foot check for feelings: new scan aims to spot hidden depression

NCT ID NCT07319338

Summary

This study is testing a new way to find depression in people with a chronic stomach condition. Since talking about mental health can be difficult, researchers want to see if a simple, painless ultrasound scan of a foot artery can act as an objective clue. They will check if this scan, along with other routine tests, can accurately identify patients who might need mental health support.
