Can fighting poverty help fight depression? major study tests new approach

NCT ID NCT06295250

Summary

This study is testing if helping women with both depression and their financial struggles works better than treating depression alone. It will involve 680 low-income women in rural Bangladesh who are experiencing depression. Researchers will compare a program that combines depression therapy with practical help for poverty against standard depression treatment to see which leads to better and longer-lasting mental health.
