Cancer patients get weekly phone therapy to fight depression
NCT ID NCT00498875
Summary
This study tests whether weekly phone counseling sessions can help reduce depression in people undergoing radiation treatment for head and neck cancer. Researchers want to see if easing depression helps patients stick better to important swallowing exercises and dental care routines. The counseling teaches relaxation techniques and ways to manage negative thoughts over seven weeks.
