First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether carving the retromolar pad area on lower dentures improves satisfaction and quality of life for new denture wearers. Fifty adults with no teeth and no prior denture experience each tried both a carved and a non-carved lower denture. Researchers measured satisfaction with eating, speaking, and taste, as well as overall quality of life, to see if the carving made a difference.
