NCT ID NCT07482280

First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested a special ultrasonic tool that uses hydroxyapatite (a natural enamel-like substance) to reduce tooth sensitivity during gum disease maintenance. 40 adults with advanced gum disease received standard treatment on one side of the mouth and the new tool on the other. Researchers measured pocket depth and sensitivity over 6 months to see if the new approach is gentler and more comfortable.
